G.A.T.A. IV takes 3rd place in the USSSA Texas Boys State Tournament, Buda, Texas, April 12-13, 2008

G.A.T.A. IV began pool play by defeating a newly composed San Antonio Rohawks - Red Team. In the second game G.A.T.A. IV matched up with an Austin team - ATX Wildcats. G.A.T.A. IV posted its second win handing the Wildcats their first loss of the tourney. The third pool play match-up had G.A.T.A. IV playing the very talented and well coached Austin team - The Rising Stars. G.A.T.A. IV fell behind early and never recovered, a drought from the outside placed G.A.T.A. IV in a hole. The Stars again proved to be too much for G.A.T.A. IV down the stretch with the Star's inside out game effectively and efficiently taking control.

G.A.T.A. IV heads into bracket play as the number two seed facing a number one seed - Boerne Roadrunners. G.A.T.A. IV jumped to an early double-digit lead and extended it throughout the game. The Roadrunner never recovered ending their tournament play.

G.A.T.A. IV enters the semifinal's bracket facing another number one seed - Team Future. A team of San Antonio and Austin free agents looking for the top spot. G.A.T.A. IV soon realized that 7 on 5, and physical play would add up to a lopsided match-up. G.A.T.A. IV drops this so called match-up and placed 3rd. The Rising Stars defeated Team Future in the Championship Game. This makes two in a row for the Stars as they captured the Battle of the Alamo just two weeks earlier. The Stars have earned the label as “the team to beat” in Central and South Texas!
